Who are the Master Minds behind this site?
Dennis A. Farney
How are you? I'm a Community Health and Education Major at Northern Michigan University. I'll be graduating this semester in May 2015. I plan on applying this theory to trying to help people be healthier and more conscious of their actions and how it affects others! I'm incredibly interested in in disease and how to protect school-aged children from epidemics and outbreaks.
When I'm not hunched over a book or a laptop, I help run an ambulance service at the Eagle Mine Site in Marquette, Mi. I also love playing live music, cooking, hiking, backpacking, and spending time with my wife, Kate (a teacher at our local High School!) and our dog, Badger. |
Mackenzie Carson
My name is Mackenzie Carlson, I am a Community Health Education Major, ROTC and Spanish minor. I will be graduating in December of 2015 as 2 LT Army officer. My main focus is to go back to school to obtain my nursing degree and to either be a Physicians Assistant or a CRNA.
Abbie Hockstad
I'm a Community Health Education major with a minor in Clinical Laboratory Techniques
here at Northern Michigan University. I will be graduating in May 2016. I plan on using
this theory to help the youth (6-17) to better their lifestyle and making it a healthier one to
try and lower childhood obesity rates.
When I'm not in school, I'm working as a bartender at the Elks Lodge here in Marquette and Interning for our local YMCA's Reach & Rise Mentoring program, as well as playing volleyball for the DogHouse on the Marquette Women's City League, cooking/baking, hanging with friends/family, and just trying to stay active.
Mattie Ledy
My name is Mattie Ledy. I am a senior at Northern Michigan University. I am majoring in Community Health Education and recently completed my practical nursing license. I am from Grand Rapids, Michigan, and moved to Marquette, Michigan to attend school and broaden my horizons. I am very passionate about health care and I love teaching and interacting with people. Recently, I studied abroad in Belize, and I learned a lot about myself while abroad. The biggest thing I came back from the trip was an idea of what I wanted to do with my future; I want to help people and ensure they have the best future.
